Time Flies at the Muellers' Home
Trey loves to help unload the dishwasher (whether they're clean or dirty).
Trey wears hearing protection while Daddy uses loud machines :)
We had really bad storms today. This is what it looked like before the rain!
Last night Trey refused to go to bed when we wanted him to. When we got him out of bed, he acted like the happiest kid ever, maybe just to prove he wasn't really sleepy. :)

"I love you"
Today at lunch I called Bert. He put the phone up to Trey and said, "say hi to Mommy." Bert said that he signed "I love you" and smiled at the phone! My heart melted! His version of the sign for "I love you" lacks the pinky portion, but I'll take it anyday!

Bubbles!
Trey loves to play outside and he has figured out how to turn on the bubble machine!
Trey also loves...chocolate! He must have found a chocolate kiss on the floor. Oops!

Firsts
Bert has done a fabulous job with Trey's Baby DVD Album. We will load it soon, hopefully! I wanted to also keep track of these things in case I get curious later on. He is growing so quickly! He is such a joy and loves to be around people!
Smile- one day
Rollover- 3 ½ months
Sit up- 6 months
Tooth- 8 ½ months
Word- 9 months “Daddy”
Pulling up- 10 months
Crawling- 10 months
At one year, he can say "Momma", "Daddy", “mo” for milk, and "ho" for home. He can also sign "milk" and "finished". He rubs his head and eyes when he’s tired and plays with his tongue when he wants food. He loves to wave hello or goodbye to people. He is just learning how to kiss. He learned to "high 5" around 6 months or so (not sure exactly. When he wakes in the morning (usually not until he hears us in the kitchen), he has a huge smile on his face and gets so excited when we come in to get him. He is such a joy!

Dear Trey,
Today you are one year old. I am so amazed at God's wonderful blessings to Daddy and me when he gave you to us! You were born on Thursday, April 20, 2006. It was a misty day. You were born at Baylor Hospital in Dallas . Daddy and I were so excited to meet you! Mimi, Granddad, Grandmommy, and Granddaddy were all there to welcome you with us. Aunt Caroline and Aunt Tiffany were also there. Aunt Meredith, Aunt Caroline, Aunt Juliana, Uncle John, Aunt Mary Catherine, Aunt Grace, Uncle Matthew, Aunt Tiffany and Uncle Zac, Samuel, and David also came to see you in the hospital. Mommy's friends Carolyn Chenoweth and Meridith Lohse and Daddy's friends Stephen Nielson, Michael Brown, and David Burgher also came by. You smiled for the first time when Meridith rubbed your feet!
Though most people find out if their baby is a boy or a girl before the birth, we did not, so we were so excited when Daddy said, "It's a boy!" We knew that we would name you Herbert Clem Mueller, III, after Daddy and Granddaddy. Herbert means "brilliant leader" and Clem means "merciful." Mueller means "miller, or one who provides bread/grain." My prayer is that you will be like your Daddy and Granddaddy, who both live up to the name very well.
Two days after you were born, on Saturday, we brought you home to our apartment at 6003 Oram Street #206 in Dallas. You slept in the bassinet in which your Great Grandmother, Mimi, Aunt Meredith, Uncle Jack, Mommy, and cousin Jaden all slept as newborns.
Daddy and I couldn't help but be amazed at you, our precious little boy! We would hold you, bounce you, and rock you. We sang, read books, and prayed with you. Many friends came over to visit you and bring us meals. We were very busy feeding you, bathing you, and taking care of you! You have brought us so much joy.
We would often go for walks in our neighborhood or around White Rock Lake. Sometimes you would fall asleep and other times you just enjoyed the ride in the stroller and watched everything go by.
You are such a happy baby. Friends and strangers always tell us that you are the happiest baby they have ever seen! We certainly enjoy your smile and laughter. Your personality is so amicable. Uncle Matthew taught you to "high five." You started clapping on your own. You also wave to everyone and say "hi!" Daddy said he took you to the post office the other day and had to wait in a long line. While he was completing some forms, you were waving to everyone else in line. I'm sure you made their day! Everyone loves to see you smile!
You have been very healthy throughout your first year.
We pray, that, by God's grace, that you will know him at a very young age and grow to be a strong man of God, living by His grace. We thank God for you and look forward to watching you grow!

Ducks
Guess what? We found out from our neighbors that the Mallard ducks' home is our yard! The previous owners of our home had them. The ducks usually swim in the pond across the street but occasionally come to our backyard. Now we know why!
